Fire Extinguishers
Fire extinguishers are the first line of active defence against fire, enabling swift suppression of a blaze before it spreads and causes serious damage or injury. The speed at which a fire is tackled in its early stages is critical — the right extinguisher, correctly positioned and immediately accessible, can contain an incident in seconds that would otherwise cause thousands of euros of damage, business interruption, or loss of life.
Selecting the correct extinguisher type is essential. Different fire classes require different suppression agents, and using the wrong type can be ineffective or actively dangerous. Water extinguishers are suited to Class A solid combustible fires. Foam extinguishers cover Class A and B fires including flammable liquids. CO2 extinguishers are the correct choice for electrical equipment and Class B fires. Powder extinguishers provide broad-spectrum coverage across Class A, B, and C fires. Wet chemical extinguishers are specifically designed for Class F cooking oil fires in commercial kitchens.
All extinguishers in Safegear's range are EN 3 certified, confirming they meet the European standard for portable fire extinguishers. Regular servicing and correct placement are legal requirements in most jurisdictions — the number, type, and positioning of extinguishers required in any given premises is determined by a fire risk assessment. Extinguishers must be mounted on appropriate brackets or stands at the correct height, with clear signage indicating their location.
Safegear supplies fire extinguishers to offices, retail premises, warehouses, schools, hospitals, hotels, industrial facilities, vehicles, and residential buildings across Europe and North America.
